Jade Constellations is a sequel of the series Constellations. In Constellations, bullet holes leave some black voids. While in this installation, the conflict is intensified when Zhao adds in the element of Yu Bi (Jade Disc), a Chinese ceremonial item.Yu Bi is a flat, round jade ware with a hole at the center, originated in the Neolithic Age. As the most precious ceremonial item in ancient China, it has a rich history of over 7000 years. People believe that Yu Bi possesses a magic ability to connect with the natural world, with ghosts and gods. Yu Bi was used as an item for rituals and sacrifices for heaven, gods, mountains, seas, rivers, and stars…Several pieces of Yu Bi are inserted into fragile glass. When jade pieces are surrounded by cracks, they resemble wormholes that come into being with an abrupt eruption of energy.
