Zahariya Zograph (1810-1853). Il fut l'un des artistes les plus éminents de la période du renouveau national et le premier représentant typique de l'art laïque au XIXe siècle. Fils du peintre Hristo Dimitrov, il étudie la peinture avec son frère Dimitar Zograph. Ses icônes et fresques se trouvent dans les églises de Plovdiv (1834–1840), Zlatograd (1834), Asenovgrad (1838–1841), Koprivshtitsa (1838), Zlatograd (1834) et dans le monastère de Bachkovo (1840), le monastère de la Transfiguration de Dieu (1849–1851), le monastère de Rila (1844–1845), le monastère de Troyan (1847–1848), la Grande Lavra sur le mont Athos (1851–1852) et Karyes, le mont Athos (1853).
