Zha Shibiao, también conocido por su nombre de cortesía Erzhan y nombres de cortesía Meihe, Meihesanren y Mihedaoren, nació en Haiyang (ahora Xiuning en la provincia de Anhui). Fue famoso por sus pinturas paisajísticas, donde primero imitaba a Ni Zan y luego Wu Zhen y Dong Qichang. Sus obras cuentan con sencillez y llevan un toque de soledad y soledad. Zha fue conocido como uno de los “Cuatro Pintores de la Escuela Xin’an”, siendo los otros tres Hongren, Sun Yi y Wang Zhirui. También estudió caligrafía y rindió homenaje al estilo de Mi Fu.
