Allegory of the Fame. In the middle is the female personification on a throne with a sphere on its lap. Upstairs, the fame blows on her trumpet. From a series of five allegories (SK-A-4174/4178), painted in grisaille between 1675 and 1683 for the house "Messina" of Philips de Flines on the Herengracht.
