This device was used in colorimetry. It measures the concentration difference between two dye-baths. It is composed by a cylindrical optical tube connected to a pair of glass cylinders ending in two cylindrical glass trays also supported on a tiltable rectangular glass support. The instrument lies on a rectangular cast iron base.
