This dining room was the grand prize of the raffle at the 1903 spring furniture exhibition of the Hungarian Society for Applied Arts. The furniture and decorative objects are viewed from a distance, prepared probably for the printing of the exhibition catalogue. The composition uses the effect of lines, completed with solid black patches to create a homogeneous picture. The furniture shows the clear impact of the 1902 British Applied Arts exhibition, especially the Mackintosh workshop, Glasgow, interpreted with Horti
