Нынешнее состояние сохранения плиты не является хорошим, так как есть многочисленные царапины, швы и изменения цвета; опять же, туника скамейки справа, пятнышки одного слева и розовый халат Христа на земле перекрашены. Многие версии композиции известны, некоторые с вариациями. Во всех этих вариантах Христос привязан к низкой колонне, которая воспроизводит тот, который был доставлен в Рим из Иерусалима кардиналом Колонной в 13 веке и сдан в базилику Санта-Прасед.
