Красота Королевы Луизы (1776–1810) подтверждается многими портретами и была уравнена только ее острым интеллектом. Заядлый читатель и проницательный политик, она оказала большое влияние на своего мужа Фридриха Вильгельма III из Пруссии. Художник написал портрет в Париже из более раннего исследования пастели, сделанного из жизни. Палетка бледная и техника гладкая и законченная.
