Антон Кернер фон Марилаун, профессор ботаники, поручил Густаву Климту в 1891 году нарисовать портрет своей жены Мари Кернер фон Марилаун, née Ebner Gräfin von Rofenstein и вдова Gräfin von Wolkenstein.
