1 марта 1937 года японский композитор и дирижер Кунихико Хасимото посетил Schönberg в Лос-Анджелесе. В период с 1934 по 1937 год Хасимото изучал композицию с Эгоном Уэллессом в Вене. С его письмом о вступлении в руки, Хасимото посетил Schönberg в своем доме (Brentwood Park, 116 North Rockingham Avenue) во время своей поездки в Японию.
