С начала XIX века корабль набережной и двор пиломатериалов, изображенный на этом взгляде, был известен как Larsens Plads, или Larsen’s Place, после его основателя Ларса Ларсена. Даль впервые рисовал эту перспективу в 1816 году (музее Kurpfälzisches Museum, Хайдельберг), но в ходе репрессивной работы он удвоил размер холста, опуская случайные детали и усиливая его атмосферный эффект.
