Когда граф Карл Густаф Врангель приказал построить Skokloster, он получил вдохновение от итальянского домашнего дизайна, с лоджией и открытым внутренним двором. Последнее дает здание полное преимущество скудного дневного света, который Швеция предлагает зимой. Недостатком является холод; открытый двор дает внешней температуре полный доступ к внутренней.
