После посещения Фудоши, Цунетомо окончил Токийскую школу изящных искусств. Он основал журнал Hosun вместе с Hakutei Ishii и другими. В 1914 году он отправился в Европу и симпатизировал C_zanne’s. В следующем году вернулся в Японию. В 1922 году он принял участие в фундаменте Шуникая.
