Ван Верендаэль был под влиянием двух ведущих цветочных художников в Антверпене, Яна Дэвидша де Хеема и Даниэля Сегерса. В этой ранней работе доказательство острого наблюдения кажется наследием голландского происхождения De Heem, но общий дизайн и обитание на ботанических деталях продолжают фламандскую традицию мастера Segher, Яна Брюгель Старшего.
