В 1948 году Philips придумала новый дизайн для Philishave, получив прозвище ‘egg’. Шейвер имеет яйцеобразный держатель из пластика цвета слоновой кости с одной бритвой головкой и встроенным электродвигателем. Чтобы ускорить процесс бритья, этот дизайн был обновлен второй бритвой головкой в 1951 году. Они сделаны из очень тонкой закаленной стали и имеют несколько узких слотов для волос на лице, чтобы продержаться. Позже появилось еще одно улучшение: весенние бритые головы.
