Здесь Саенредам написал точное представление о медиаэле Мариикерк в Утрехте. Он уже был в руинах в семнадцатом веке и позже был снесен. Саенредам предпочитал такие старые здания, которые он с большой точностью документировал на чертежах. На краю тента вы можете прочитать, что он закончил эту картину 20 ноября 1659 года.
