Художник и художник. Ученик Анрик Моммерс (1619/20–1693) и Адриен ван Остаде (1610–1685). Влиял Ян Стин (1625/1626–1679). Active in Haarlem (1669–1670), Leeuwarden (1670–1687), Haarlem (1687–1702). Многоцифровые композиции – в основном рыцарские сцены с банкетными видами, крестьянским жанром, а также исторической живописью, портретами и итальянцами.
