Среди самых последних работ Тициана, выпущенных в 1575-1576 годах, две были официальными комиссиями: одна для Палаццо Дукали, изображающая Доге Антонио Гримани на коленях перед верой, а вторая для Филиппа II, изображающая Испанию Succouring Religion. Последний отмечает участие испанского флота в битве при Лепанто.
