About the artist: Donna J. Neary (Col, USMCR) (1941- present) Donna Neary is a self-taught artist. She was commissioned as a captain in the Marine Corps Reserve in 1978 and covered training exercises in Norway and Korea. In 1993, she documented Operation Restore Hope in Somalia. On 11 September 2001, Neary was at Bethesda Naval Hospital and sketched the activities as staff prepared to receive casualties from the terrorist attack at the Pentagon.
