A woman with flipped forelock of hair, Mine Okubo, stands in the right foreground and observes a man kneeling on the floor clipping grass which has grown throught the floorboards of the their living quarters, a horse stall in Tanforan. Her brother Toku also watches, while lying on a cot and resting his chin in his right hand. A little girl in a floral dress and short, cropped hair stands next to him in background. Boot sits on ground, right.
