Douglas Abdell is a sculptor and conceptual artist, predominantly working with cast and welded bronze, welded steel, and carved stone. His work often explores political and social themes related to Mediterranean countries and their history. Born in Boston in 1947, Abdell has had numerous individual and collective exhibitions in the United States and abroad, including the Storm King Art Center, the Museum of Modern Art, and the 3rd Geneva Biennale.
