Polo es raro entre las esculturas de Remington por muchas razones. Nuestro yeso es uno de sólo dos moldes hechos. Su figuración cónica no tiene frente. Remington se encargó de mostrar los refinamientos más pequeños en estos hombres bien guardados y sus ponis, hasta camisas con botones y vasos sanguíneos visibles debajo de la piel de los caballos. A primera vista, Polo aparece elegante y refinado, pero cuando se ve dónde está la acción, el tema puede llevar a los espectadores a un entendimiento diferente de su opinión original. Remington creó 22 temas diferentes en bronce. Polo era la décima escultura.
