In questo grande dipinto, Otto Bache (1839-1927) raffigura una mandria di mucche che viene cacciata da uno spargimento di mucche su una mattina di autunno. Si distinguono due mucche in primo piano: una mucca bianca che guarda come se volesse lasciare la mandria e una mucca corrosa alzando la testa e guardando verso un punto fuori dalla cornice – forse all'artista. Il dipinto è così realistico e realistico che è quasi possibile sentire le mucche che mormorano e annusano il loro odore acrido. Con Christiansborg come quadro, il dipinto potrebbe anche essere interpretato come le persone che, come elettori, devono essere allettate e costrette ad andare ai sondaggi.
