Este pequeño jarrón en forma de fruta, probablemente una granada, está decorado con sprays de melocotones y el fruto inusual conocido como el citro de mano de Buda. La arcilla utilizada es de un tipo excepcionalmente fino conocido como “pata suave”, que se desarrolló a principios del siglo XVIII. Un material mucho más caro que el duro-paste utilizado generalmente en la porcelana china, fue probablemente reservado para objetos pequeños y muy selectos exhibidos en el escritorio del erudito.
