En la inscripción en este abanico, Mierda establece su teoría de la pintura, "el único golpe", o "la pintura de la unidad (yihua)": En un día lluvioso, lluvioso y primaveral, estoy feliz de no tener visitantes; mi mano es libre, mi mente relajada y limpia. Los antiguos lo llamaban yihua, la "carreta del sueño": mil colinas, diez mil valles, gente, bambú, árboles, un solo pincel y todo está terminado. En un nivel, el yihua constituye un concepto muy práctico: un diseño completo comienza y termina con la pincelada única. En un plano metafísico, sugiere que "las trazos miríadas se reúnen en unidad" a través de la mente y la mano del artista y a través de la comunión espiritual del artista con la naturaleza.
