Abdurrahman Hilmi Efendi, muallim, also known as Abdurrahman Hilmi, was born in Elbasan, K. in 1268. He is a famous Istanbul-based calligrapher and writer, known for his works in the field of Islamic calligraphy. He is the son of Tahir Ağa. He is the author of the book 'Collection of the eleven risalas' and many other maulids. He is also known for his calligraphy exercise 'Meşk'. He is blind in the left eye and partially blind in his right eye due to glaucoma.
