Andrea Baruffi was born in Lizzano in Belvedere, Italy in 1949. He attended the art secondary school in Bologna and proceeded to obtain his degree in architecture from the University of Florence in 1975. He then moved to the United States and became a graphic illustrator for major New York newspapers and magazines, gaining international fame. He currently lives and works in Lizzano in Belvedere, Bologna.
