Evgenii Aleksandrovich Lansere was a Russian artist born on January 12, 1848, in Moscow, Russia. He was known for his sculptures and monuments, including the famous 'Young Cossack Couple on a Horse' (1880). Lansere studied at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture before continuing his education in Paris. He died on December 26, 1886, in Rome, Italy.
