Johannes Takanen was a Finnish sculptor born in Ala-Urpala, Virolahti, Finland on December 8, 1849. He died in Rome, Italy on September 30, 1885. Takanen is known for his 26 artworks and is considered one of the most significant Finnish sculptors of the 19th century.
