Rune Snellman is a Finnish photographer born on July 8, 1950. He has been involved with photography since his first shot at the age of 13 and has continued to explore the medium throughout his life. Snellman's work often focuses on capturing the beauty in everyday moments and objects, using a meditative approach to photography that allows him to connect with his subjects on a deeper level. Despite being surrounded by digital technology, Snellman prefers to work with traditional methods, finding inspiration in the imperfections and textures of film. His photographs have been exhibited in various galleries and museums, including the Jyväskylä Art Museum, where he had a solo exhibition in 2018. In recent years, Snellman has continued to create new works, exploring themes such as nature, architecture, and the human experience. He lives and works in Jyväskylä, Finland.
