Biography:

Butsujo Jisen was a Zen monk of the Sōtō sect of Zen in the late Edo period and early Meiji era. He was also known as Ryūkadōjin. He was born in 1798 in Japan and died in 1870 in Japan. He was a prolific artist and his works are highly regarded in Japan. He is best known for his ink drawings, including 'Ink Drawing of Shoki' (1866).
