Hwi Hahm is a contemporary artist known for his paintings that explore the pictorial possibilities of mythological storytelling. His work examines how myths serve a profound purpose in contemporary society, and his compositions frequently employ a wide-ranging and ever-expanding collection of elements. Born in Busan, South Korea in 1993, Hwi Hahm currently lives and works in New York City. He received his BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2016. His first solo exhibition in New York City was titled 'Bushman's Poetry, Starman's Prank' at Lubov Gallery. Hwi Hahm has participated in various group exhibitions across different cities including New York, Leipzig, Florence, and Busan. He has also been featured in several residencies such as Palazzo Monti Artist Residency in Brescia, Italy, and Pilotenkueche Artist Residency in Leipzig, Germany.
