Biografi:
John Tweedle was an African-American staff photographer for the Chicago Daily News, one of the first African-Americans to hold such a position on a major, white-owned daily newspaper. He was born in Chicago in 1930 and died in 1997. Tweedle was known for his work during the Division Street Rebellion in 1966, which deeply affected how Puerto Ricans came to understand themselves and their place in the city of Chicago. He also worked as a producer and director for the black-oriented program 'Our People' on Chicago's educational network. Tweedle was a mentor and inspiration to many, including New York Times staff photographer Michelle Agins.
