Jorge Molder is a Portuguese artist born in 1947 in Lisbon, Portugal. He studied Philosophy and began his artistic career in the late 1970s with a focus on black-and-white photography. His work often features self-portraits or close-ups of hands and faces, exploring themes of identity, memory, and the passage of time. Molder has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions worldwide, including representing Portugal at the Venice Biennale in 1999 and being a guest artist at the São Paulo Biennial in 1994. In 2007, he won the AICA (International Association of Art Critics) award, and in 2010, he received the Grand Prize EDP / Arte. His artwork titled 'Untitled' from the series 'Inox', created in 1995, is an example of his photographic style.
