Biography:
Lazzaro Pasini was an Italian painter, mainly known for his landscapes and genre scenes. He was born in Reggio Emilia in 1861 and died in Milan in 1949. Pasini was a pupil of engraver Romualdo Belloli in Reggio Emilia, the city of his birth.
After obtaining a scholarship to study at the Academy, Pasini moved to Florence where he frequented Giovanni Fattori’s studio. He was attracted by the macchia style of painting and devoted himself to executing landscapes of the Tuscan countryside from life.
In 1884, Pasini made his debut at the National Exposition of Turin with a genre scene based on a social theme. Similar themes became a constant feature of his work following his move to Milan in 1886, where he came into contact with exponents of Lombard Naturalism. At the beginning of the 20th century, he became interested in the technique of separating colors to achieve effects of heightened luminism in works of a religious nature and in his first Lombard views.
Some of Pasini's notable works include landscapes and genre scenes. His mature works were devoted mainly to landscape painting, with a return to a late 19th-century naturalistic language.
Some of Pasini's works can be found in museums such as the Pinacoteca di Vicenza, which houses an impressive collection of artworks from various periods and styles. The museum is located in the Palazzo Chiericati, a magnificent building designed by Andrea Palladio in the 16th century. Important to note that Pasini's works are also part of other collections, such as the Palumbo-Fossati Collection, which includes works by famous artists such as Thomas Moran, William James Glackens, and Jean-François Raffaelli. https://Wikioo.org/@/Lazzaro-Pasini https://Wikioo.org/Art.nsf/O/A@D3AFPD https://Wikioo.org/Art.nsf/Art_EN?Open&Query=lazzaro+pasini,lazzaro,pasini The Pinacoteca di Vicenza is a must-visit destination for art lovers and anyone interested in the cultural heritage of Italy.
