Líbero Badíi was an Argentine painter and engraver born in Buenos Aires in 1936 and died in 2007. He was a disciple of the great Argentine painter and engraver, Lino Enea Spilimbergo. Badíi was a member of the 'Grupo de los Ocho' (Group of Eight), a group of Argentine artists who sought to break away from the traditional academic style of painting and engraving. Badíi's work is characterized by its abstract and surrealist elements, often featuring distorted figures and shapes. He was a prolific artist, creating a large body of work that includes paintings, drawings, and engravings. Badíi's work has been exhibited in galleries and museums throughout Argentina and has been included in numerous group exhibitions. He has also received several awards for his work, including the Premio Nacional de Grabado (National Engraving Prize) in 1968. Badíi's work continues to be celebrated and studied in Argentina and beyond.
