ชีวประวัติ:

Lino Tagliapietra is an Italian glass artist, born in Murano, Italy in 1934. He began his apprenticeship at the age of 12 and became a maestro at the age of 25. Tagliapietra has worked with glass for over 70 years and is world-renowned for his incredible manipulation of glass and innovative creations. He splits his time between Murano, Italy and Seattle, WA. Tagliapietra has played a key role in the international exchange of glassblowing processes and techniques between the principal American centers and his native Murano. His influence is also apparent in China, Japan, and Australia, and filters far beyond any political or geographic boundaries. Tagliapietra's work is characterized by his distinctive, hard-to-classify style that recalls abstract (and especially op) art. He has created his own colors and uses them almost exclusively in his own work. Tagliapietra has had a significant impact on the American art glass studio movement and has taught workshops at La Scuola Internazionale del Vetro (Murano) and the Pilchuck Glass School in Washington state. He has also had numerous solo shows at galleries and museums around the world.
