Biography:
Mircea Roman is a Romanian sculptor born in Băiuț, Romania in 1958. He has won numerous awards for his work, including the Award of the Fine Artists Union of Romania for Sculpture in 2017, the Golden Medal of the Union of Fine Artists Union of the Republic of Moldova in 2008, the Order of the Faithful Service in the Degree of Officer in 2000, the Atelier 35 Bucharest Prize in 1993/1994, and the Grand Prize of Osaka Triennial in 1992. Roman's work is represented in numerous museum and public collections including the Osaka Contemporary Art and Culture Center, National Museum of Contemporary Art Bucharest, National Museum of Art in Bucharest, Museum of Visual Arts Galați, The Museum of Recent Art, Bucharest, Craiova Art Museum. He has also been featured in various exhibitions and publications, including the book 'Mircea Roman „din fragmente”' by Alexandru Davidian and the article 'Mircea Roman „din fragmente”' by Valentin Iacob in Formula AS.
