Biography:
The National Intangible Heritage Center is a South Korean institution dedicated to preserving and promoting the country's intangible cultural heritage. The center is located in the city of Jeonju and was established in 2012. It is responsible for archiving, preserving, and communicating Korean intangible cultural heritage, including traditional music, dance, theater, and other performing arts, as well as traditional crafts, festivals, and rituals. The center also provides training courses for successive practitioners to maintain and transmit intangible cultural heritage. The center is the first complex administrative institution in Korea for safeguarding and transmission of Korean intangible cultural heritage.
