Biography:

Nikolay Filippov was born in Moscow, Russia in 1948. He became interested in photography in 1964 at the Moscow City Palace of Pioneers and Schoolchildren. In 1965, he began publishing his work in Soviet newspapers and magazines. In 1970, one of his photographs, 'On the Boulevard', was included in the list of one hundred of the best works by amateur and professional photographers. Filippov graduated from the Journalism Department of Lomonosov Moscow State University in 1972. In 1984, he became a member of the International Organization of Journalists and received a medal for his contribution to the development of photojournalism in 1985. Filippov passed away in 2021.
