Biography:
South Netherlandish Painter is a painter from Belgium, born in Bruges around 1460. He is known for his oil on wood, gold ground painting called 'The Annunciation' dated around 1470s. He is classified as a South Netherlandish Painter and his style is Antwerp Mannerism. He was active in Antwerp from about 1509 to about 1525. His paintings are classified stylistically as Antwerp Mannerism, and he may be the same person as the Master of 1518. This South Netherlandish Painter should not be confused with an eighteenth-century Dutch artist who had the same name.
