Richmond Newspapers, Inc. is the primary daily newspaper in Richmond, Virginia, and the primary newspaper of record for the state of Virginia. The newspaper was founded in 1850 as the Richmond Dispatch and later merged with the Richmond Times in 1896 to become the Richmond Times-Dispatch. The newspaper is currently owned by Berkshire Hathaway and has a daily circulation of approximately 100,000 copies. The Richmond Times-Dispatch is known for its coverage of local and state news, as well as its editorials and opinion pieces. The newspaper has won numerous awards for its journalism, including the Pulitzer Prize.
