Anna Maria Zammataro de Aguiar Pupo is a Brazilian educator and historian. She was born in São Paulo, Brazil in 1943 to an Austrian-Hungarian mother and an Italian father. Her grandparents were immigrants who came to Brazil from Austria and Italy. Anna Maria studied History and went on to become a teacher, working for 20 years in schools after the military dictatorship. She is also the founder of the Companhia de Educação. Through her work as an educator, Anna Maria has emphasized the importance of education in transforming society and has inspired others with her patience and love for teaching.
