Alyosha Kafedjiyski was born on July 7, 1937, in Chirpan, Bulgaria. He studied sculpture under prof. L.Dalchev and took his BSc degree in sculpture from the Academy of Fine Arts in Sofia in 1964. Kafedjiyski has exhibited his work in various cities, including Varna, Plovdiv, Lovetch, Rousse, Moscow, and Padua. He has won several regional and national awards for his sculptures. In addition to his sculptural work, Kafedjiyski is also known for his role as Alyosha in Fyodor Dostoevsky's novel, 'The Brothers Karamazov', as depicted in the 2021 film 'A masterful director brings Dostoyevsky’s characters to life'. Kafedjiyski is represented in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs collection, along with other Bulgarian classics in the field of sculpture, such as Velichko Minekov, Valentin Starchev, Krum Damyanov, Boris Gondov, Vasil Radoslavov, George Chapkanov, Ivan Varchev, Dimitar Boykov, Alexander Dyakov, Ivan Kolev, Ivan Neshev, Galin Malakchiev, Milan Andreev, Kiril Meskin, Lubomir Prahov, and Georgi Radulov.
