Cyprien Tokoudagba was a Beninese sculptor and painter, born in Abomey, Benin in 1939 and died in 2012. He started to work as an art restorer for the Abomey Museum in 1987, and continued the tradition of bas-relief through the use of cement and commercially available synthetic paint. He also produced works on canvas, frescoes, and monumental sculptures. Tokoudagba's work was exhibited at the 'Magiciens de la Terre' exhibit in Paris, France in 1989, and at the 'Ouidah '92' festival in Benin in 1993. His works have also been exhibited in several museums around the world, including the Smithsonian institution - National Museum of African Art in Washington, DC, and the Musée Dapper in Paris, France.
