Fatima Killeen is a Moroccan artist living in Canberra, Australia. She was born in Casablanca and studied at the school 'Les Beaux Arts' of Fine Art in Morocco. During this time, she was selected for an engraving workshop at the Asilah Arts Festival. In 1988, she was accepted into the Corcoran School of Art in Washington DC where she studied painting and photography. While at the Corcoran, she was awarded the Dean's Merit Scholarship. She moved to Australia in 1994 and continued her Bachelor Degree in painting and printmaking at the Canberra School of Art (Australian National University). In 1997, she graduated with First Class Honours and received three Graduation awards (the VETA award, Mallesons Acquisition Award, and a Megalo printmaking residency award). Since 1997, she has taken part in group and solo exhibitions in Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Jordan, and Morocco. In 2001, she received the Wattan Art Prize at the Powerhouse Museum in Sydney. During 2015 and 2016, she was presented with both the ACT regional and the National African-Australian Awards for Professional Excellence. At Kenitra, Morocco in 2017, she received the International Honour Award for Moroccan Art & Culture. She was awarded the Australian Muslim Artists Art Prize in 2021. Her art is included in the national commemorative publication '50 Years of Art in Morocco.' Works have been acquired by the Australian War Memorial and the Australian National University.
