Gianni Piacentino is an Italian artist, known for his sculpture and painting inspired by motorcycles, automobiles and planes. He was born in Coazze, Italy in 1945. Piacentino was an early member of Italy’s Arte Povera movement and also worked as a designer of motos of competition. He opened his own way in minimalism in Italy between 1965 and 1968. He also worked as a consultant for a factory of varnishes and specials. In 2015, the Fondazione Prada organized a retrospective of his work in Milan.
