Hanns Porst was a German entrepreneur and the founder of Photo Porst. He was born on February 9, 1896, in Nuremberg, Germany. After serving in World War I, he opened his own photography business in Nuremberg in 1919. In addition to his work in photography, Porst also took over Spear's Games, a German game manufacturer, during World War II and renamed it Porst-Spiel. He continued to run the company until after World War II.
