Takamatsu was a prolific artist who worked in various mediums, including photography, sculpture, painting, and installation. He was also a member of the art group Hi Red Center and participated in the Fluxus movement. Takamatsu's work has been exhibited in major museums and galleries worldwide, and he is considered one of the most important postwar Japanese artists.
