In his early years, he trained under his father, Zahariy the Elder. Krastyu Zahariev's works are characterized by their rich colors, intricate details, and deep spirituality. He is best known for his contributions to the Tryavna School of iconography, which flourished during the Bulgarian National Revival period in the 19th century.
